There are few things more exciting than getting involved in a community where you can contribute to something bigger than yourself. Mautic is a community built and grown by a team of volunteers around the world. You can be one of them.
As open source software we don’t have employees providing tech support or improvements. We depend on the strength of our community to create the value of Mautic. Our community is where the true value of Mautic lives.
And we are so glad you want to join our community! There are an almost overwhelming number of ways in which you can help.
1 What do you want to do?
Whether you prefer coding, designing, documenting, marketing, testing, translating, or usability (just to name a few), there are ways you can be a valuable part of Mautic.
The Mautic Community is organized into five teams, which have varying numbers of Working Groups within them.
- Community Team
- Education Team
- Legal & Finance Team
- Marketing Team
- Product Team
Get involved with a team
The best way to get involved in the Mautic Community is to join a team or working group meeting and find out what they are working on. Check out our contribution guides on the Community Handbook.
We also advise you join us on Slack and join the #new-contributors channel so one of us can give you a hand if you need ;)
If you're a developer and you'd like to contribute code to the Mautic project, you can find the repository on Github.
Feel free post on the development forum and share your link in #dev on Slack if you need any guidance!
We suggest you think about your skills, personal and professional, the activities you are good at, and the ones that you would be glad to partake in as a member of our community.
For instance, you may be a professional developer, but be interested in "shaking things up" a little and contributing to our Education team. Or you can be a marketing professional, but be interested in taking a peak beneath the hood and do some coding.
You can also advance your skills, which is at the same time a contribution to our community, and an advancement of your own CV. Check out what some of our contributors have to say about that in the Community Spotlight section.
2 How much time do you have per week/month?
We welcome and thank you greatly for whatever time you can dedicate to our community.
Once you know what you want to do and how to best use your skills, all that is left is to put some time aside. It doesn't matter if it's half an hour or a full day, your dedication will be highly appreciated.
3 Let's start NOW
There's no better time than now.
Once you’ve made your choice and found the time to contribute, all you’ve got to do is get in touch with the team you want to join.
Let's start now!
